Progressives fill leadership post

At its state committee meeting in Randolph this weekend, the Vermont Progressive Party elected Lee Madden of Brattleboro to fill the vice chairman slot vacated by gubernatorial candidate Anthony Pollina.

"I am proud to be entrusted to help grow the Vermont Progressive Party so more Vermonters have a real alternative to the business-as-usual parties," Madden said in a statement.

"I am excited that we have Anthony Pollina's high visibility campaign with some serious issues to be debated in the Governor's race this season," Madden added, noting his predecessor.

Madden has been active in politics for over 20 years, and participated in the state Progressive Party's founding convention.
