Progressives react to Krowinski comments

The Progressive Party is taking issue with an interview Democratic Party executive director Jill Krowinski gave PolitickerVT.com Wednesday, in which Krowinski said the Democrats were committed to avoiding a three-way governor’s race.

“I’d also say that we are committed to a head to head race with Douglas,” says Progressive Party executive director Morgan Daybell. “For months we have suggested Anthony has the best chance of defeating Douglas, but remained open to other ideas. We continue to talk with not only Democrats, but independents and disaffected Republicans, who are interested in uniting behind Anthony (Pollina)’s candidacy. But you don’t beat an incumbent in Vermont sitting on the sidelines until March or April or May. Many rank and file Democrats are excited about Anthony's campaign, we hope their leaders will join them.”
