Statement from the Symington Campaign on Douglas' Economic Announcement:

The fact that Jim Douglas is offering a so-called innovative
challenge a month before the election that contradicts many of the
policies he has pursued for the last six years, proves just what a
gimmick this is.  The fact is, Jim Douglas has stood in the way of
innovation by erecting barriers to wind power and by rejecting smart
grid technology, among other short-sighted economic policies.  The
result is the highest unemployment rate in 14 years, no job growth,
and falling family incomes.  Vermonters will see through this and
conclude it's too little, too late.
