GOP slams Shumlin on Catamount

The Vermont Republican Party is hitting Senate President Peter Shumlin Tuesday. The subject: Catamount Health.

"President Pro Tem Peter Shumlin has been caught telling two very different tales to reporters about his plan to gut Catamount Health. It is both astounding and deeply disappointing that Senator Shumlin would deny a comment that he made to Governor Douglas, top Administration officials and fellow senators, only to turn around and confirm the conversation to a different reporter,” said Party chair Rob Roper.

“ How can Vermonters expect progress on the most important challenges facing our state -- healthcare, economic prosperity, and property tax relief -- if we can't trust our legislative leaders? I certainly expect Senator Shumlin to come clean and tell Vermonters the truth."
