Peter Galbraith by all indications was having a good week. He spoke to Democratic Leaders in Montpelier and formed his PAC. And this was coming off a nice introduction to Democratic insiders by the Dem Chair Ian Carleton.
Yet now, some are concerned Galbraith may be their only option. I have received two emails from Democratic insiders expressing concern over Galbraith. Both expressed similar concerns… one was is Galbraith doing this for the right reasons or is this simply the best positioning to put himself back at a higher level at the State Department in a Clinton II White House. And the second concern was the light nature of Galbraith’s Vermont resume. Galbraith’s DC centric background only fuels earlier rumors of Dems being encouraged to take on the Governor with a soft place to land following any loss.
One Dem insider said, “I just don’t want Galbraith to be our Jack McMullen.” With Pollina in the race, the Democrat is going to have to relate well to the common Vermont and it sounds like there are some concerns that Galbraith’s State Department credentials could miss the mark.
