Douglas appoints McNeil to House seat

Governor Jim Douglas has chosen former Rutland Town Selectman Jim McNeil to fill the seat that Republican State Rep. David Sunderland is vacating, the Rutland Herald’s Brent Curtis reports.

"Jim is a great community leader and business leader. He shares my goals on the economy and the importance of creating new job opportunities," Douglas said.

"It's been one of my dreams," McNeil said of the House seat. "This is a great way to serve the people of Rutland Town."

Douglas also interviewed former state legislators Harold Billings and Donald Chioffi for the appointment.
