Democrats hit Douglas on budget

Now the Democrats are out with their response to Republican Governor Jim Douglas’s address on the budget.

"What we heard at the budget address is vintage Jim Douglas: lots of nice sound bites, but no real leadership," said Democratic Party chair Ian Carleton. "The governor couches his proposals in platitudes that make his budget sound palatable in a difficult election year, but a closer look reveals a troubling lack of attention to the real consequences of his numbers. Unfortunately, Vermonters will be left in the cold holding the bill."
