Now the Democrats are out with their response to Republican Governor Jim Douglas’s address on the budget.
"What we heard at the budget address is vintage Jim Douglas: lots of nice sound bites, but no real leadership," said Democratic Party chair Ian Carleton. "The governor couches his proposals in platitudes that make his budget sound palatable in a difficult election year, but a closer look reveals a troubling lack of attention to the real consequences of his numbers. Unfortunately, Vermonters will be left in the cold holding the bill."
